Last updated 17 October 2026 · Nomme version 1.5.1

The short version. You can use Nomme without telling it who you are: it starts with an anonymous account. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google or an email address, that sign-in is stored so you can get back into your household. What Nomme stores is what your household decided to eat, so the other people in your household can see it too. Nomme+ is a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play; Nomme never sees your card details.

Who is responsible

Nomme is made and operated by Dalsten Group AB (Swedish organisation number 559542-6304), Sweden, which is the controller of the personal data described on this page. Dalsten Group AB is reachable at [email protected]. For questions about your data, write to that address.

What is stored

WhatWhy
An anonymous account identifier So the app can tell your household apart from everybody else's. It is generated by the device and is not linked to an email address, phone number or name.
Your household: its name, its invite code, who belongs to it, and the food preferences you set So everyone in the household is shown the same dishes, and so the ones you excluded never appear.
A display name, if you enter one So the other people in your household can tell who is who. You are not asked for it and it can be left empty.
Which dishes you liked and disliked in each round That is how a match is worked out. It stays with the round.
The meals your household matched on, and what has been ticked off the shopping list So the list is the same on every phone in the household.
Your language So recipes and notifications arrive in the language you read.
If you sign in: your email address, and your Apple or Google account identifier (Apple may give a private relay address instead of your real one) So you can sign in again on a new phone and find your household. Signing in is optional; without it the account stays anonymous.
Your Nomme+ subscription: whether your household has one, which plan, and when it renews or ends So everyone in the household gets Nomme+ when one person pays. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google and passed to RevenueCat (see below); Nomme receives no card or bank details.
A notification token, if you allow notifications So your household can send you the shopping list. Turning notifications off deletes it.

What is not stored

  • No phone number or postal address. No password unless you choose email sign-in, and then only Google's sign-in service holds it, never in readable form.
  • No location. Nomme never asks for it.
  • No contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
  • No card or bank details. Payment is made to Apple or Google.
  • No advertising identifiers, and no advertising from anyone else.

Who can see it

The people in your household, and nobody else. The security rules that guard the database check membership on every read and every write: a person outside your household cannot read your preferences, your rounds, your meals or your list.

An invite code is the one thing designed to be shared. Anyone holding it can join your household and will then see what the household sees. Treat it the way you would a door key.

Nomme does not sell data, and does not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Subscriptions (Nomme+)

Nomme+ is an auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play, monthly or yearly, sometimes with a free trial. The price is shown before you buy. Payment is taken by Apple or Google; the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your Nomme account does not cancel it.

To know whether your household has Nomme+, Nomme uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA), which receives your household's anonymous identifier and the purchase information from Apple or Google, including the transaction, product and dates. RevenueCat processes this on Nomme's behalf and does not use it for advertising. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU standard contractual clauses.

Where it is stored

Nomme runs on Google Firebase. The database holding your household, rounds, meals and lists is in Stockholm, Sweden, and the recipe files and images are served from Europe.

Two parts do not stay in Europe, and it is only fair to say so plainly. Sign-in, crash reports and usage statistics are handled by Google services that store data across their global infrastructure, which can include the United States, regardless of where the main database sits. Transfers rely on Google's standard contractual clauses.

Statistics and crash reports

Nomme records what happens in the app so it can be made better: a round started, a match found, a recipe opened. These are counts of events tied to the anonymous identifier, not a record of you. They are what tell the developer whether people who install the app ever get as far as eating.

When the app crashes, a report is sent containing the technical state at the moment it failed. It does not contain your recipes, your list or your household.

Our other apps

To show our other apps, the app fetches a list from our server; only the app name, platform and language are sent, and taps are counted anonymously. To show only apps that are actually available, it also asks Google Play or the App Store which of them are published; nothing about you is sent there either.

How long it is kept

Your household and its meals are kept while the household exists. Rounds go stale quickly and are cleaned up; the meal that came out of a round is what is kept. Notification tokens are removed as soon as they stop working, which happens when the app is uninstalled.

Delete your data at any time. See Delete your data. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of what is stored about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. If your account is anonymous, the developer cannot look you up by name, so an access request has to come from the app itself: write to [email protected] and you will be told how. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Children

Nomme is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Integritetspolicy

Uppdaterad 17 oktober 2026 · Nomme version 1.5.1

Kort version.
